Let Your Life Speak

Without opening your mouth to say a word, can others tell that you are a Christian? The way you dress, talk, walk, and the people you associate with all say a lot about your character. Your life is the greatest testimony to the world. What testimony are you sharing?

As sons and daughters of the King, we are called to represent Him through our actions and the way we live. When others look at us, they should see a difference. They should be able to tell that we are not of this world. We cannot live, act, or dress the same way as the world.

My grandma, mom, sister, and I wear skirts and dresses full-time, and I cannot tell you how many conversations that choice has sparked. Random people often approach us, asking if we are Christians, simply because of how we dress. We also receive many compliments from others.

Sometimes in life, we are afraid to stand out from the crowd. We don’t want to be different, so we say one thing but live another. However, just imagine how many people could come to Christ through your example and the way you live your life.

Don’t be afraid to be different and stand out for Christ. Don’t shy away from representing Him through your lifestyle. Take a moment to reflect on your life and ask yourself these questions:

  • By the way I dress, can others see Christ in me?
  • By the way I talk, am I reflecting Christ?
  • Am I being a positive influence to those around me?

As you reflect on these questions, ask God to transform your heart and give you a heart like Christ. Pray for a renewed mindset and the courage to live for Him in both words and actions.

I pray that without even speaking, others will know that we are sons and daughters of King Jesus—and that they will desire to know Him because they see Him in us.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16
